TLDR
Claude Code's new /design command generates three design variants in parallel, with an inline editor for typography and layout, and can pull brand assets from URLs via Firecrawl. The real value is that it runs inside Claude Code with access to memory, skills, and MCP tools, making it more powerful than the standalone Claude Design web app.

Claude finally dropped its slashdesign feature inside Claude code. This allows you to build three beautiful versions of any design. It makes it so easy to edit it to make it perfect and will save you
hours in the process. And in this video, I'll show you exactly how to use it so you can build beautiful designs that you will actually use and get light years ahead of your competitors even if you're
starting from zero. So, if you haven't yet, grab that beautiful coffee and let's dive straight in. Within Claude, all you can do is come down and do slash design. And once you've done that, you
can give it a prompt and design anything and ask it to create multiple versions of anything. And I'm going to show you some beautiful examples in this video. These are examples of just one shot
designs. You know, it can do essentially anything. And it took this feature from the design side, but bring it into Claude gives us some incredible functionalities. Now, here's the thing.
We are waging war against the AI slop monster and this is a significant victory for us because essentially now what it enables us to do is essentially build anything from homepages, posters,
CVS, templates, Instagram carousels, whatever it is. And we can do this in parallel. We call this parallelization which is tough to pronounce maybe after a few copies perhaps. And we can get
three different designs at once. But the coolest thing is that we can actually go in and edit it. So once it designs anything for us, we can double click into it. We can embolden things,
disembolden other things. We can change the text and you have this full panel on the right hand side that lets you edit things from typography, spacing, alignment without having to go back and
forth with Claude itself, saving you a ton of tokens. Now, not only does this create better designs because you get more of them, the really cool thing about it is that this already has inside
Claude now all of your memories, all of your skills, and connections to all of your apps. And this enables it to do stuff that you just can't do if you're using Claude design. And when I say
Claude Design, I simply mean the design app inside Claude that you use online. And remember, anything you can do in Claude Design, you can do inside Claude Code plus a billion other things. Now,
before I show you what you can build with this, you have to understand why we're even talking about this and what this actually unlocks. First of all, it's going to remember your brand. So,
anything you've got across anything includes there, your skills add into it. You can actually generate beautiful images and videos based on all of your connections. You can actually go ahead
and publish stuff. So you can use apps like potato or anything else to literally post Instagram carousels all from the same app without having to export or do any of that stuff. Has
every version on record and it's all run on your desktop. Now the best way to understand it is to put it to use. And by the way, if you're new, I'm Jack. I built and sold my latte startup with
like a gazillion customers. Now, I'm building my own AI startup. And I share head the stuff that actually works. And one of the things that works really well is its ability to design this stuff. And
we're going to do this across posters, company docs, infographics, and Instagram carousels. And if you make it to the end of this video, which I highly recommend, you are going to unlock
design powers using this stuff that you're going to find really helpful. Now, here's the first thing that you need to understand is we've got to build an inspiration list and the ability to
articulate it. My favorite one of these right now is save. I just find it a beautiful. It's kind of like Pinterest. Everybody uses Pinterest. This is really sweet. I really love this. So, we can
come on here and find different levels of design and inspiration. So, if I want to find posters, for example, I can come down and have a look at this. Equally, you can use Pinterest. You can use
Dribble. Dribble's got so many different ideas. There's so many different websites out there. So, step one is literally find inspirations that you like. And I'd encourage you to get three
different images that you think look really cool. And then all you're going to do guys, it literally come down, just simply save that image or copy it. Come over to Claude and make sure that you're
running on the latest version. And what we're going to do is for slash design like so. And here we go. And you're going to paste in those images. Now, these are three example images that I
found that I think look really, really gorgeous. I have been to Skogaf in Iceland. It was incredible. Coldest country I've been to, but man, they have some great sushi out there. I love these
three things. So, you do for/esign. I say, "Hey, I want you to be inspired by these three designs. Create for me three posters about the moon. Each design like the three I've given you here. And then
crucially just tell it that it can use any image generation tool that it wants to. And then guys, it will pop out something that looks like this. Now look how cool this looks. And if I come back
and show you like look at the actual difference. This is the reference image and then this is what we got. Absolutely gorgeous. We've got this lunar eclipse module here. That one is taking
inspiration from this again. That looks amazing. And then you've got the moon. And you may think, dude, this is really cool. Now, ordinarily, if it gave you an image you didn't like, you had to go
back and forth like you're playing an infinite game of ping- pong. Now, the cool thing with this is that we can actually go ahead and edit this. So, say, for example, that it's added some
information that we don't like. Let's say we want to get rid of this one here. Well, we can come over and we can literally delete that. Really freaking cool. What else do we want to do? Well,
I like this text, the moon, but what if we want to maybe move it up a little bit? You can move it down. You can do all these different things with it. Now, what you want to do is come over here to
the top right and you click on show the properties panel, which is cool. And you got the travel poster. Again, this clicks through everything on on basically in the panel and then you can
use this to edit it to your heart's content. Some of them have greater degrees of editability than others. More imageled items, guys, are going to have less. So, for example, what this is
doing is giving us an image with some text overlay. Now, the next level isn't simply just designing something. It's ability that Claude can actually on the internet, grab things, and improve
design. So you could say, "Hey there, I want you to head over to my school community, AI automations with Jack and design for me three different poster concepts." Uh, some could just be
conceptual and some could be explanatory. Grab any images from that website and just kind of integrate it for me. And then once again, we can drop any reference images inside. And these
are three infographics I found that I think are cool. This looks cool. That looks decent. And this is kind of a little bit more symbolic, a little bit more kind of like edgy. And would you
believe it? It's come back here. Love an automation AI by Jack. This is a kind of like a bit more of a kind of fancy one. Here we've got again this one is very similar to the last one which is here.
You can see it's really mirrored the style which is decent. But this one here is probably my favorite. It really captured that style. It's got the photos from all the meetups we did. We just did
one in Budapest. It was awesome. It's got the numbers. It's got loads of things. You get like 10k in software discount support blah blah blah. All the things from the community guarantees and
basically kicking butt. So it can literally now go and grab things for you online. But then let's say that you want to take it another step further and you're looking at your own business or
maybe one of your clients businesses and you want to build them a kind of like a document style. So let's say for example I'm going to come down once again. I'm going to do for/design like so and I'm
going to say something like hey there I want you to head over to glider.com. I want you to extract the brand identity. Use firecrawl to go ahead and do this. Firecrawl basically lets you grab things
for low tokens. Grabs brand identity stuff like that. And what I want you to do is build me three different uh ideas for an invoice that we could potentially use. And so just for your reference,
this is what Glider looks like. It's my tech startup. It's how I'm doing all my speech dictation. It has like a gentic mode, stuff like that. And then this is what it gave us. Now I'm going to be so
honest with you. I was so freaking impressed with this. This one here is my favorite on the left hand side. So I think this is really cool. Kind of reads like a receipt. It's quite edgy and it's
just given us three completely different styles. And you can see how it's extracted the brand palette. Again, I always use firecraw when I'm building stuff like this. It's just like my
no-brainer go-to item. And you can see if I if I want to change this, I can come down. I can alter many different things. Settings on the right hand side in terms of where do you want to align
it to? Should it line in the middle? Where should it be? All those kinds of things. Just so you get that kind of granular control. And what's really cool, it kind of functions if you've
ever used any software like an Adobe Suite where you can move things over left and right. It's really, really good like that. Now, building and perfecting it is one thing, but what if I want to
actually go ahead and use this and do something else with them, like I don't know, send this invoice to a customer. Well, one of the things that we can do is head back over to Claude. And in the
window, I might say, "Awesome. I really like design one, the dark signal. I'd like to create me an invoice for $33,000 to the UFC for my UFC debut. Go ahead, grab their own particular address, use a
fake address on mine, and just send it to my email address that you have on file. And I want you to go ahead and use Zapia to do that, please. The reason I like using Zapia is because it is my
authentication layer. I use it across Hermes. I can use it across Codeex. I can use it across Claude and it has access to tools that you can't get access anywhere else. For example,
school itself has an API that you can connect in with Zapia, but you can't necessarily do it outside of Zapia. I like it cuz I get way more access to different tools and it makes it
unbelievably easy to set up because every platform these days needs you to connect to it in different ways. I find it really easy to do this. I can click in, decide what it does and does not
have access to and create as many of these MCP servers as I want. So, I freaking love using this. Funny tidbit, by the way, my last tech startup when I first founded it, I used Zapia to do
that. So, I've got a bit of sentimental affection for Zappia, but I use this for stuff like this and it's freaking amazing. And by the way guys, if this sounds like I'm speaking design Spanish,
I'm going to put a link down below for my full Claude master class that will take you from a complete beginner to understanding design systems like this. Building beautiful websites, how to
integrate it with any app and effective, if you can imagine it. How do you actually go ahead and build it? And it also comes with immediate access to the full cord code operating system and
really cool the design operating system. It lets you do a gogillion amount of things, use multiple models, search your folders, see your paid usage, and build out custom apps and systems inside this.
It's so freaking cool. It'll get you light as a head. I'll put a link down below so you can go and grab that if you'd like. And then on my email, I can actually come down and have a look at
what this looks like in PDF. And guys, look at this. It's done the exact style that we just built together using Claude. This is really freaking cool. And then all we would do is just save
this as a skill by saying, "Hey, Claude, save this as a skill." And then whenever I need to create an invoice in the future, I can do that directly inside Claude. And this is what I really like
about this command is the fact that we can design it and send it together in Claude and it all kind of in one simple system without me need to export it anywhere. But if we were to think of it
broadly and think, okay, well what could we do Instagram? Well, the answer to that question is yes. For example, we can come back over to Claude, give it the design skill, and what we can say to
it is, "Hey, I would like you to go ahead and find for me three beautiful and different basically Instagram carousels in my niche to do with AI and automation, and just design for me three
versions, all with three different slides that you think I could use to build out a system of my own." And then Claude's come back with three different designs. Now, this is one of the coolest
things about the three designs is that not all of them are good. Like this one here guys is King of Slotsville. I don't like it. This is classic Claude font. Nothing says written by Claude like
this, but it does has done a good job of getting my name down there. This one I'd say, you know, okayish, but it's still not amazing. But the one at the bottom genuinely I think looks pretty decent.
It's actually gone ahead and grabbed logos which I'm really impressed with. And again, you can do very increase the size of it if you want to. So cool. And again, it's got this nice
differentiation if I'm talking about different tools like hey, there's Club Code, there's N10 and I can use all of it. But then this comes on to the biggest challenge of anything built in
design. That design is one thing, but it's the text that actually makes a difference. Which is why I've built something called the AI slop monster. And it's a GitHub repo, my most
requested GitHub repo. I've put a link for it down below. And essentially what this will do is it will actually go through all of any design that you make, any website, and it will run it through
basically stuff built on the best free GitHub DAI slop filters. I've got all the stuff that Wikipedia suggested that eliminates AI writing. We run it through GPT 5.6 which is the best model for
basically avoiding the kind of classic slopification. We then and this is the cool thing I wanted to do that copy exists for a purpose. So we need to get the best expertise on marketing sales um
how do we actually write to get people to do stuff. So it's got world-class copy from people like Hozi Priestley all the best guys at actually creating copy that actually conveys a purpose. It's
also built on several core principles. One of my favorite books ever, don't make me think, name the pain first, um, specific or silent, one ask per screen, and basically thinking about time
constraints. And you can literally come down to this button here, click on copy, head over to Claude, hey there, install the skill, and then just drop in the URL, and it will go ahead and do that
for you. And just to show you an example, this obviously is an example that I that I built in a video recently. But if you come here for example over to copy, you can see the difference. So
check this out. Instead of saying trusted, reliable, and built to last, six nails per shingle, every shingle, not just a roof, but peace of mind. This is just classic AI stuff. A written
scope and a fixed number before anyone climbs a ladder. The area's most trusted roofing experts. Classic roofing and only roofing since 2001. Give it the skill and it will work wonders. But then
it does take us on to one big and final problem and that's that building the stuff in claude is one thing but if you want to fully unlock the capabilities you can do with design you need a design
operating system which we're going to learn about in this video right Here.
